Sonic Tradition are one of the newest and most exciting bands to emerge from the UK in a long time. Coming together from many different music scenes. Based in Cumbria, they merge world music grooves with electronica, folk, jazz, country, blues... you name it, it's in there somewhere.
Made up of seven very talented and experienced musicians, they came together just over a year ago and are already creating a stir on the British festival scene. A major act at this years Solfest in Cumbria.

The sound of the band is truly unique, mixing many different styles to produce a sound that is vibrant, danceable and new. Now with their first album and website in position (www.sonictradition.net), they are actively seeking agents to secure festivals and gigs across Europe and the UK, labels to licence the album, air play and press coverage.
Sonic Tradition are truly a joy to watch live, using a vast array of instruments from all corners of the globe and displaying a dynamic stage presence.
The band are also working in conjunction with Lanternhouse International, a well respected local arts organisation, to set up a monthly event. 'The Global Shindig' will be a modern day take on the traditional Ceilidh. Sonic Tradition will be the house band using their grooves and tunes, so there will be anything from Drum and Bass to traditional Salsa with crazy twisted electronica, horns, fiddles, guitar and voice in the mix. All creating an exciting new night with a feel similar to that of the early House parties. There are lots of people talking about the possibilities of this night and a great buzz is happening already. It will be held in a different venue every month and supported by The Global Shindig website, guest musicians and all sorts of things that are weird and wonderful.
